Zoom meeting to alert residents of tax credits for solar panels | Local News

During Solarize Indiana’s next Zoom meeting, local residents and business owners will learn how federal tax credit has been extended from 26% through 2021 and 2022 for installing solar panels on homes, farm structures and business premises.

The Zoom get-together for Solarize Indiana, a grassroots community group, will be held on Wednesday, February 24th at 6:30 pm.

The Zoom meeting includes a 30 minute presentation followed by an hour of questions and answers. Attendance at the Solarize Indiana Zoom meeting is free.

Prior registration is required. The zoom link for registration can be found at https://www.facebook.com/solarizeECI or by email to Carolyn Vann ([email protected]) or John Vann ([email protected]). Chairwoman of Solarize Indiana.

One of the primary benefits of installing solar using Solarize Indiana is group pricing.

In addition to reducing the cost of installing a solar system, adding solar panels to structures allows for greater energy independence with less exposure to rising utility bills, said Carolyn Vann. The grid measurement will be available until June 2022.

Adding solar energy also does not affect the appraised value of a structure and does not increase the owner’s property taxes. However, the addition of solar can add value to the property.
