REC Group launches next-gen premium rooftop solar panels
Singapore-based solar manufacturer REC Group has launched the fourth generation of its TwinPeak premium panels for residential and commercial roofs, including a new cell structure design and higher power output.
REC announced this week that the TwinPeak 4 series, rated up to 375W peak power, has gone into production this month and shipments are expected in July and August.
The company said the new panel series would offer a choice of white or black backsheet variants, multi-busbar connection, improved performance of 120 half-cut monocrystalline p-type cells, and best-in-class performance on tough Roof provide conditions, including partial shading.
The new panels also have additional support bars on the back, which increase their strength and durability and contribute to much higher energy yields.
Cemil Seber, vice president of global marketing and product management for REC Group, said the new panels enhanced the strengths that had made the TwinPeak family “such a success,” including the groundbreaking and award-winning Twin design.
The first TwinPeak generation, which was introduced in 2014, was the first with REC’s patented split-cell and junction box technology and was awarded the Intersolar Award 2015.
“The REC TwinPeak 4 marks the latest technological and powerful advancement for our TwinPeak family and strengthens the entire portfolio of the REC Group by offering our roof customers more options, be it in the residential, commercial and industrial segments,” said Seber.
The TwinPeak 4 series is also eligible for REC’s comprehensive ProTrust warranty package, including a 25-year warranty on product, performance and labor, under certain conditions.
The new panels also offer an improved performance guarantee of only 2 percent maximum performance degradation in the first year of operation and 0.5 percent per year thereafter up to the 25th year.
