PUCSL to provide NVQ 3 Level free to trained electricians

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) started a program last March to provide national professional qualifications (NVQ 3 level) free of charge to trained electricians across the island. This project is carried out in cooperation with the National Vocational Training Authority and the Commission for Tertiary and Vocational Education.

Chairman Janaka Ratnayake

Accordingly, 2,500 electricians from all districts of Sri Lanka will be certified in the first phase. Around 900 electricians in nine districts have already completed this training and can receive the NVQ3 certificate.

“We started this project from the Kurunegala district. We hope to be able to complete this project very soon, even in the midst of this COVID pandemic, by very carefully following all government health regulations. Accordingly, action is being taken to issue NVQ3 certificates to 45,000 electricians within two years, ”said Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of PUCSL.
