Over 45,000 electricians to get NVQ3 certifications within two years

According to Janaka Ratnayake, Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL), at a blood donation ceremony in Kurunegala last week, steps were taken to obtain NVQ3 certificates for 45,000 electricians within two years under the National Professional Qualification Program (NVQ 3 Level ) to issue. The NVQ 3 Level Program, which was initiated by the PCSL in collaboration with the National Vocational Training Authority, the Tertiary and Vocational Training Commission The Commission launched the program in March to offer national professional qualifications (NVQ 3) free of charge to trained electricians across the island.

According to this, 2,500 electricians from all districts of Sri Lanka will be certified in the first phase. Around 900 electricians in nine districts have already completed the training and can acquire the NVQ3 certificate.

“We started the project in the Kurunegala district and hope to complete the project soon, even in the midst of this Covid pandemic, in compliance with all government health regulations,” said Ratnayake.
