Norway’s REC unveils pure black 405-Wp Alpha solar panels
April 27 (Renewables Now) – The Norwegian solar module manufacturer REC Group launched an all-black version of its alpha photovoltaic module (PV) with a generation capacity of up to 405 Wp on Monday.
The REC Alpha Pure Black panel uses half-cut heterojunction cells based on split cell and junction box technology. It will be suitable for both residential and commercial projects, said the Norwegian manufacturer.
REC expects production of the new panels to begin at its Singapore facility in June without the use of lead in the manufacturing process. The first deliveries are to take place a month later.
With 219 W per m², the purely black panel offers one of the highest power densities on the market thanks to its seamless arrangement. According to REC, this design can avoid the typical gaps between cells.
The REC Alpha range of panels was launched in 2019.
REC is headquartered in Norway and has an operational base in Singapore and regional hubs in North America, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region.
