Genesis eG80 spied with roof-mounted solar panels
A test sample of the upcoming Genesis eG80 battery sedan was discovered in a parking lot covered with solar panels in South Korea.
The fairing is in place, but the muscular bonnet, two-piece headlights and a stub where the grille is usually located are unmistakable. Also note the missing exhaust tips.
The four-door G80-based EV can be equipped with two engines and a range of around 500 kilometers, although neither of them is currently official. The solar panels on the roof can be used to top up the batteries in real time while driving. A level 3 autonomous driving system is also expected.
The Korean newcomer is expected to go into production in two years and compete against Mercedes-Benz EQS and Tesla Model S.
