24-year-old Ghatkopar lady discovered hanging from ceiling fan in bed room
The woman was employed by a private company and worked from home. No suicide note found, say the police
A 24-year-old woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan in the bedroom of her home in Ghatkopar on Sunday evening. No suicide note found. Pant Nagar police have recorded an accidental death.
The woman lived with her parents and two brothers in the fourth floor apartment, police said. She was employed by a private company and had worked from home after the lockdown.
“She worked from her bedroom and stayed inside most of the day. However, late in the evening she took a short break to eat and talked to the family. The family worried that she couldn’t get out of the room on Sunday evening, ”said an officer from the Pant Nagar Police Station.
The family knocked on the door several times but got no answer. “Her brothers said they first thought she might have taken a nap and decided not to disturb them. Her mother worried after she didn’t come out of the room for dinner. So they broke down the door that night and found it was hanging on the fan, ”said the officer.

The family immediately called the police. She was taken to the Rajawadi Hospital, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
The family told the police that their behavior did not indicate that they were sad or concerned.
According to the police, the family members also denied any problem among themselves. The police said they are still investigating the matter.
